Bilingual Office Assistant – Town of Landover Hills — Part-Time – 25 hours per week 

The Town of Landover Hills is looking for an individual who is a multi-tasker with excellent verbal and written communications skills in both English and Spanish. Candidates should be professional, attentive to detail, and comfortable with computers and general office tasks. 



The Office Assistant greets visitors, provides secretarial and clerical assistance to the Town Manager, Town Treasurer, Code Enforcement Officer and other department heads as needed; translates material into Spanish for Town newsletters, website, Facebook page and PEG channels; assists with Town communications on Facebook, PEG stations, and website; answers phones and takes messages; interprets for Spanish speaking callers and customers; opens and logs-in incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail; drafts correspondence; processes check requests; provides information and assistance to staff and the public regarding Town business; and performs other duties as assigned. Clerical assistance includes general filing, scanning, copying, and preparing materials for Council meetings. This position description should not be interpreted as all-inclusive. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m.— 3:00 p.m. 


Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school Diploma or equivalent. 

• A minimum of one year administrative or office experience. 

Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish. 

• Local government experience/knowledge of government operations is desirable. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Knowledge of and experience with social media. 

• Proficient computer skills. 

• Working knowledge of general office equipment (ie. copier and scanner). 

• Organizational skills. 

• Telephone skills. 

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 

• Customer service experience. 

Salary commensurate with experience. Must pass a Spanish language proficiency test.
